College of Agriculture, Lafia has nurtured engineers, farmers, and scientific pioneers, and entrepreneurs, business leaders and spiritual leaders, public servants, scholars and teachers in nearly every field of Agricultural Sciences and beyond.


A Centre of Academic excellence for the promotion of Agricultural, Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nigeria and beyond.

To promote the production of skilled technical and professional middle and higher level manpower for the development and sustenance of agriculture in Nigeria. To conduct researches in the various areas of Agriculture and Related Discipline for Self-reliance and National Development.


This institution has the following aims and objectives;
i. To offer courses leading to the award of National and Higher National Diploma Certificate;
ii. To offer professional courses to candidates to qualify as agricultural extension workers:

Our History

College of Agriculture, Lafia was established in 1977 under the then ministry of Agriculture, Jos, Plateau State as a Training School. It was mandated to train Agricultural Extension Workers for middle manpower requirement of the State. The institution was elevated from the status of a school to that of the College through Edict No.13 of 1987.
